When Destiny Speaks: Lessons from My Illness, Astrology and 79 Years of Life Experience
Why Remedies Often Fail and Divine Timing Prevails
Beyond Remedies: My Journey Through Illness, Sade-Sati and Divine Grace
Reflections of an 79-Year-Old Astrologer
By Acharya (Dr.) Anil Aggarwala
As I approach the age of 79, I feel compelled to share some of my most profound experiences with students of astrology and seekers of truth. These experiences are not merely astrological observations but lessons learned through suffering, uncertainty, divine intervention and the mysterious workings of destiny.
During my long journey in astrology, I have met thousands of people who approached me with a single question:
“Which remedy will solve my problem?”
After decades of observation, research and personal experience, I have come to a conclusion that may surprise many.
Remedies may provide mental strength, faith and spiritual support, but they cannot alter the fundamental framework of destiny when powerful karmic forces are operating.
My own life became the greatest laboratory to test this principle.

The Third Cycle of Sade-Sati
I entered the third cycle of Sade-Sati in my life when Saturn began transiting over my natal Moon Aquarius at 22 degrees on the 15th Jan. 2025

Astrologically, I was fully aware of the dangers.
Saturn’s transit over the natal Moon at exact degrees often tests a person physically, mentally and emotionally. Yet, despite all my astrological knowledge, I could not escape the karmic experiences that unfolded.
Between 15 January 2025 and 4 March 2025, I was admitted to the ICU in Dubai with severe lung complications and pneumonia.
For nearly two months I remained bedridden.
There were moments when the suffering was so intense that it resembled what classical texts describe as Mrityu-Tulya Kashta—suffering equivalent to facing death itself.
Yet the same Saturn that inflicted suffering also protected me.
Saturn taught me humility.
Saturn taught me patience.
Saturn taught me surrender.
And above all, Saturn taught me that knowledge and prediction do not exempt anyone from destiny.
The Eclipses Confirm the Theory of Inevitability
After recovering from the first crisis, another challenge emerged.
The Solar Eclipse of 17 February 2026 and the Lunar Eclipse of 3 March 2026 occurred over sensitive points connected to my natal Mars in Leo.
For years I have written about the Theory of Inevitability, taught by my revered Guru Shri K.N. Rao.
The principle is simple:
When a powerful Dasha operates and eclipses activate sensitive natal points, the promised event in the horoscope becomes difficult to avoid.
At that time, my Rahu period was operating.
The eclipses precisely activated natal vulnerabilities.
Soon thereafter, I developed liver-related complications and severe water accumulation in the abdomen.
Once again, I became largely confined to bed.
The prediction had manifested exactly as indicated by the horoscope.
The astrologer in me knew what was happening.
The patient in me still had to endure it.
When God Answered My Question
During this difficult period I repeatedly asked myself:
“Which hospital should I approach?”
“Which doctor is right for me?”
I had already consulted multiple hospitals and doctors, yet satisfaction and confidence were missing.
The question remained unresolved in my mind.
Throughout my life I have observed a fascinating phenomenon.
Whenever a genuine question deeply troubles me, nature begins to reveal the answer through omens, coincidences and seemingly accidental events.
In the first week of June, an extraordinary chain of events unfolded.
My son arrived from Dubai to see me.
He accompanied my daughter to a gym.
There they met a lady who, twenty-five years earlier, had been my neighbour and was now living near my daughter.
In casual conversation she strongly recommended a specialist at Fortis Escorts Hospital located very close to my residence.
An appointment was arranged on the 8th June 2026 See the chart below of the exact time and date Moon was over the Natal Moon with Rahu in Transit over the Natal Moon in the 9th house
She even accompanied us.
The very next day, a Tuesday, I was admitted.
From that point onward my recovery began gradually and steadily.
To me this was not coincidence.
This was divine guidance operating through ordinary human beings.
The answer arrived not through a gemstone, ritual or expensive remedy.
It arrived through a sequence of events orchestrated by destiny itself.
The Freehold Property Lesson
My second experience concerns my ancestral property.
Construction work had begun.
Mutation had been completed in my name in 2023.
However, the property remained stuck because the Land & Development Office had not permitted conversion to freehold status.
Like thousands of others, I experienced years of frustration.
During this period I consulted an elderly astrologer from a village near Coimbatore.
He advised me that unless I visited certain temples in South India, my problems would continue for another five years.
According to him, relief was unlikely before 2028 or even later.
I respectfully considered his advice.
Then I applied simple logic.
More than sixty-five thousand property owners in Delhi were facing the same problem.
Could my personal temple visit solve an administrative issue affecting tens of thousands of citizens?
Would the destiny of sixty-five thousand people change because I performed a particular ritual?
The proposition did not satisfy my reasoning.
Then, by the grace of God, events took an unexpected turn.
The Government issued a circular announcing that from 1 January 2026, the freehold process would commence and pending cases would gradually be processed.
The issue was administrative.
The solution was administrative.
No ritual changed government policy.
Government policy changed government policy.
This experience reinforced an important lesson.
What Then Is the Role of Remedies?
I am not against prayer.
I am not against worship.
I am not against faith.
In fact, I believe they are essential.
Prayer gives courage.
Faith gives hope.
Spiritual practices strengthen the mind.
But there is a difference between spiritual strength and changing destiny.
Many people mistakenly assume that every difficulty can be eliminated through remedies.
My life has taught me otherwise.
When a karmic event is due, it often unfolds despite every precaution.
However, divine grace can determine:
- How much suffering we experience.
- Whether we survive the crisis.
- Whether help arrives at the right moment.
- Whether we gain wisdom through the experience.
The purpose of spirituality is not always to cancel karma.
Often its purpose is to help us endure karma.
A Message to Students of Astrology
After decades of research and practice, I have learned that astrology is not merely about prediction.
It is about understanding the deeper intelligence operating behind life.
The horoscope reveals tendencies.
Dashas reveal timing.
Transits reveal triggers.
But above all stands Divine Will.
As students of astrology, we must avoid creating false expectations through exaggerated promises of remedies.
An astrologer must guide, not mislead.
He must explain destiny, not sell miracles.
The greatest remedy I have discovered is not a gemstone, ritual or pilgrimage.
It is acceptance, patience, faith and the courage to face life as it unfolds.
At eighty years of age, after illness, suffering, recovery and countless experiences, this remains my most valuable lesson.
Destiny may delay, test and challenge us, but Divine Grace never abandons us.
Suggested Closing Quote
“Remedies may strengthen the mind, but when destiny’s clock strikes, events unfold according to the law of karma. What truly saves us is Divine Grace, right guidance and the courage to endure.”
