The eclipse of December 14, 2020 would be Total Solar Eclipse of magnitude 1.02 which means that at the moment of greatest eclipse, the Sun would be completely hidden by the shadow of the Moon. The longest duration of totality would be 2 minutes and 10 seconds.
The total Solar Eclipse would be observed from Chile, Argentina, South Atlantic Ocean and South Pacific Ocean. Temuco, Villarrica, Sierra Colorada are few cities of Chile and Argentina where total Solar Eclipse would be visible. The partial Solar Eclipse would be visible from Pacific Ocean, Antarctica and south in South America.
Some of the well-known cities from where Partial Solar Eclipse would be visible are Santiago in Chile, Sao Paulo in Brazil, Buenos Aires in Argentina, Lima in Peru, Montevideo in Uruguay and Asuncion in Paraguay.

Significance of Solar Eclipse
According to Hindu puranic, eclipse (Solar or Lunar) is not only a celestial phenomenon but an occurrence with philosophical meaning. This is related to the Samudra Manthan that took place between the Devas and Asuras in the Satyuga. The two sides needed the Amrit (divine nectar of immortality). The Asuras forcefully grabbed it and later, Lord Vishnu had to take the avatar of Mohini to retrieve it. Subsequently, asura named Svarbhanu, who exists in form of Rahu and Ketu, deceitfully consumed the nectar and got punished by Lord Vishnu. Since Surya and Chandra had complained to Lord Vishnu about him, he avenged by swallowing and releasing them. For this Reason Sun and Moon are are eclipsed by Rahu and Ketu. In fact all Planets are eclipsed by Rahu. The Only friend of Rahu is Mercury

The Relief may only come after Mars goes in the Sign Aries from the 24th Dec to 21st Feb 2020 to some extent but Jupiter loosing in the Planetary war on the 21st may be most Enigmatic and Venomous till Jupiter leaves the sign Capricorn on the 5th April 2021
