Republic day 2017 in India will be celebrated on 26th of January, at Thursday. In 2017, India is celebrating its 68th Republic Day. First Republic Day of India was celebrated in 1950.

Republic day in India is celebrated every year with great honour on 26th of January to honour the Constitution of India as it came into force on the same day in the year 1950. It had replaced the Government of India Act, 1935 into the governing document of the India. At this day, a national holiday is declared by the Indian Government. The new Indian constitution was sketched and approved by the Indian Constituent Assembly and decided to celebrate it on 26th of January every year as India became a republic country.
Chief Guest on Republic Day of India 2017
The chief guest on Republic Day of India 2017 will be Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He will be the chief guest of Republic Day parade 26th of January 2017.

18 suspected terrorists have been detained in the past 24 hours in nationwide counter-terror raids by intelligence agencies, state police and the NIA said. There are fears of Paris-like attack on metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata. Terror suspects have been detained Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Meerut, Roorkee.
Raids are still on across the country against ISIS and Jaish -Mohammad (JeM) sympathisers. Intelligence agencies say the terror groups are planning to target Prime Minister
